Ronaldo’s Hat-Trick Throws Out Atletico Madrid From Champions League

Christiano Ronaldo

A hat-trick from Christiano Ronaldo at home in Italy overturned an earlier 2:0 defeat by Atletico Madrid over Juventus.

The Spanish club had scored their Italian counterpart two goals to nothing in their first leg Champions League about two weeks ago.

But Ronaldo’s hat-trick in Italy on Tuesday night during the returned match was enough to put Juventus through to the quarter final stage of the league.

In England, Manchester City thrashed German side, Schalke 04 by seven goals to nothing, finishing on aggregate by 10-2.

Sergio Aguero scored twice for City on the night, with other goals coming from Sane, Sterling, B. Silva, Foden, and Jesus.

The result puts City through to the quarter final as well.
