Rotary Plans Delivery Bay For Dansoman Clinic

Dela Gomado

The Rotary Club of Accra-Dansoman has announced plans to build a child delivery bay for the Dansoman Clinic.

The President of Rotary Club of Accra-Dansoman, Dela Gomado, who mentioned this during its fifth anniversary dinner and charter night held recently, said the facility when completed will improve maternal and child healthcare at the clinic.

“We shall also visit the Mamprobi Polyclinic, where we are in talks to provide theatre equipment and medical logistics to the clinic,” he added.

Addressing the gathering of club members, Mr Gomado recalled Rotary Club of Accra-Dansoman’s activities in the past five years which included presentation of items to orphanages in Esuekyir, Woarabeba and Winneba in the Central Region and Ada-Aflive, Chorkor and Gbebeyise in the Greater Accra Region.

Other projects undertaken by the group in the past years have been the provision of a water system for the Tafi-Atome community in the Volta Region, the restocking of the Gbebeyise Basic School library with a variety of books and sponsoring the formation and charter of the Rotaract Club of the University College of Management Studies (UCoMS).

Mr Gomado pointed out that through such activities, the Rotary Club of Accra-Dansoman was this year rated the third highest per capita contributor in District 9102, owing to how the club has increased its membership and contribution made to the Rotary Foundation.

“Our German friends have thrown an invitation to host us this year in Germany from the 17th to 23rd of June en-route the Rotary International Convention in Toronto, Canada, from June 24,” he added.

Mr Gomado expressed optimism about the future of the club as it continues to build on its association with the various communities they have been supporting so far.

The Rotary Club of Accra-Dansoman, which started in 2012 with six members, has since grown into a club of over 24 members and still counting.
