THE MAIDEN edition of the annual Right To Dream (RTD) Corporate Football League, has kick-started in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, with sixteen crack teams competing for top honours.
The David Accam Community Pitch at Daban, which is an ultra-modern astro turf pitch of international standard would be hosting 240 matches, starting from August 1, this year, till the league comes to an end.
Matches would be played three times every week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting from 6pm to 9pm, Mr. Wahid Hage, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship RTD Kumasi, told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS.
The participating teams are Forewin, Silver FM, Samsung, Kessben FM, Geoquaye, Angel FM, Multi Media, Mantrac, Sikka FM, Ultimate FM, The View, Great Seadat, Good Luck T-Shirts, Ashfoam, Garden City Radio and Goil.
Mr. Hage said the sixteen-team corporate league would last 15 weeks, indicating that RTD had introduced the league to entertain soccer fans in the Garden City during the evening after working hours.
He explained that the corporate league was introduced among other things, to build and improve connection between the participating corporate institutions, which would help enhance their work delivery.
Mr. Hage, who is a renowned football administrator, stated again that the league was also introduced to help players of the participating organizations to exercise their bodies and improve their physical state.
He expressed happiness about the huge patronage the RTD Corporate League had enjoyed so far, adding that he is also highly impressed about the high standard of football exhibited by the participating teams.
