In a gruesome incident that has left residents of Apesokubi in the Oti Region in shock, a woman believed to be in her late 60s has been found dead with her private parts including breasts and tongue removed.
The woman, popularly known as Daa Yaa, had left home for a funeral in another community but did not return.
According to reports, neighbors later found her lifeless body lying on the ground with her private parts removed.
It is unknown what caused her death, but the police, along with a medical team from Worawora Hospital, arrived in the village and advised family members to bury her due to the body’s decomposition.
The police have since commenced investigations into the circumstances leading to her death.
For now, no suspects have been apprehended.
The situation has left many residents in shock, and they have called on the police to investigate the incident and bring the culprits to book. The heinous nature of the crime has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for justice for the deceased.
The community has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police as investigations into the matter continue.
