Sam Loco Efe Is Nollywood’s Most Clever Actor – Charles Inojie

Sam Loco Efe

Nigerian actor, Charles Inojie, has praised late colleague, Sam Loco Efe, proclaiming him as “the most intelligent Nollywood actor that ever lived.”

In a recent conversation with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Inojie shared insights into Loco Efe’s unparalleled brilliance.

Describing Loco Efe as hailing “from another planet” as the extraordinary genius he was, Inojie recounted moments when Loco Efe’s subconscious mind effortlessly absorbed rehearsals while he engaged in seemingly unrelated activities, such as smoking a cigarette.

Inojie highlighted Loco Efe’s ability to read a scene just once, correcting fellow actors with precision even from a distance.

Expressing regret, Inojie emphasised that the legendary actor passed away without receiving a national honour, despite his remarkable contributions to the Nigerian film industry. Inojie lamented the oversight, contrasting it with the country’s tendency to bestow national honours on less seasoned individuals.

Inojie recalled Loco Efe’s significant achievements, citing his recognition as the best actor in Africa by the Queen during Nigeria’s entry to FESTAC 1977 with the film “Lambodo”. He underscored that even in death, Loco Efe is deserving of posthumous awards for his exceptional talent and impact on the entertainment landscape.

Sam Loco Efe, a revered figure in Nollywood, passed away on August 7, 2011, at the age of 65, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be celebrated by those who recognise his unparalleled contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
