Samira Bawumia has praised Ghanaian gospel music duo Tagoe Sisters for not only being great at what they do but also being great mothers.
This was after she joined the duo and other mothers at The Mirror’s Mothers’ Day Buffet Lunch, a ceremony to honour mothers as part of this year’s Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday.
The two musicians are one of the longest-serving gospel groups in Ghana. Made up of Lydia Dedei Yawson Nee Tagoe and Elizabeth Korkoi Tagoe, they have been singing in the gospel music industry since 1983 and have several records to their belt.
The twin sisters received Model Mothers Award at The Mirror’s Mother’s Day Buffet Lunch programme.
This was also to honour their exploits as mothers beyond their public life as exceptional musicians.
The Second Lady indicated that she is proud of the group in a social media post.
She shared photos from the Mother’s Day event including that of the Tagoe Sisters on Facebook and congratulated them on the new honour bestowed on them.
She wrote, “I had the pleasure of joining our dear mothers at The Mirror’s Mother’s Day Buffet Lunch, today in Accra. Our mothers deserve to be celebrated every day for their invaluable roles in our lives. Congratulations to the evergreen Tagoe Sisters on being awarded “Model Mothers” of the Year. Happy Mother’s Day!”
