In a remarkable display of empathy and humanitarianism, Hajia Samira Bawumia, wife of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, has provided free medical screening to over 3,000 inmates at the Nsawam Medium Prison in the Eastern Region.
Through her foundation, The Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP), Hajia Samira Bawumia ensured that the inmates received comprehensive medical check-ups and were provided with necessary medications.
Additionally, she facilitated the renewal of their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards at no cost.
This act of kindness is not an isolated incident, as Hajia Samira has consistently demonstrated her commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
Previously, she donated dozens of bags of rice and other food items to Muslim inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, enabling them to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr while incarcerated.
The Member of Parliament for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, also visited the inmates to deliver a message from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He urged the inmates to vote for Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming presidential election on December 7.
Hajia Bawumia’s selfless efforts to improve the lives of Nsawam Prison inmates have earned her widespread recognition and admiration.
Her commitment to humanitarian work continues to inspire hope and positivity among vulnerable populations.
