Entertainment host at Kwadwo Sheldon Studios (KSS), Scanty, known in real life as Redeemer Acquah, has lamented over the current economic hardship confronting the country.

The content creator, in a post on X, voiced out how the average youth in the country struggles to make ends meet, a reality many of his followers related to under his post which read, “System hard make 29 years boy no know ein left and right (sic).”

The post has since generated over 129.9 views, 125 replies, 526 retweets, 5.3k likes and 126 saves, making it one of the leading engaging conversations on X.

Francis Awambe wrote, “You can know the left and right and still can’t ‘outwork the system’ hmm, e hard (sic).”

Big Pin Charge also wrote, “Chale we get 45-year-old people applying for internships at my office. That one sef vacancy no dey. The system is beyond hard bro (sic).”

Labadi Mayor wrote, “Ebi crazy how the system has made almost all the people living in it less relevant. A system created to limit the creativity aspect of its people.”

Frontline Reports added, “From Master degree to Master of Momo business, Ghana will humble you.”

Ben Softpaws wrote, “Bro, the system is messed up…u no get connections add aa e go make basaa…God have mercy (sic).”

Scanty, as well as many Ghanaian youth, are expressing frustration about the hardship under John Mahama’s administration, citing issues like unemployment, high cost of living, and lack of opportunities. Many feel betrayed by unfulfilled promises, particularly with programmes like the 24-Hour Economy policy which seeks to offer employment for the youth.

Many have also called for an end to corrupt practices and want anti-corruption institutions empowered to nib corruption in the bud.

President Mahama has acknowledged these issues, emphasising that his government will prioritise rural development and equip the youth with skills for a sustainable future.
