Security Man Murdered At Ellembelle

A 60 year old security guard has allegedly been butchered to death by unknown assailants at Aiyinase in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.

The security man was guarding the Unicom Cocoa Shed in the area when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The incident, according to some of the residents, occurred at about 8am on Monday.

Superintendent Thomas Bayor, Ellembelle District Police Commander who confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE gave the name of the deceased as Kwaw Mensah.

He narrated that on February 26, 2018 at about 8:30am, one Kumi Aboagye from the District Office of Unicom Cocoa Limited, Aiyinasi branch accompanied by one Samuel Ango Appiah, the District officer of Adwamapa Cocoa Limited reported the case to the police.

He said the two reported about the death of the night security guard at the Cocoa Depot who they suspected was attacked and killed by unknown thieves.

He indicated that the Police proceeded to the crime scene and found out that the door to the Depot was broken.

“They also found the deceased, Kwaw Mensah’s body lying behind the Depot with both hands and legs tied”.

The deceased’s body was later conveyed to Axim Government Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

“So far no arrest has been made. But investigation has begun and hopefully the alleged perpetrators will be arrested”, he added.
