‘Selling Banku In US Better Than Kumawood Acting’

Kyeiwaa

Popular Ghanaian actress, Kyeiwaa, has said working in a US restaurant is far better and more lucrative than acting in Kumawood.

According to her, she wasn’t ashamed of working in a restaurant because she has made some good money for herself. The veteran actress was reacting to 2018 rumours that she had become a dishwasher in the US.

In an Instagram video she shared over the weekend, she said she was preparing Banku, adding that she would have been dead if she was still in Ghana.

“For the first time, kindly permit me to express my pains and address some rumours levelled against me some time ago. I really didn’t want to give them my attention but I feel like coming out to explain some few things. It’s very sad how our very own Ghanaians try as much as they can to denigrate our well-earned reputation,” she wrote under the video.

“Some colleague actresses brought out my videos to shame me that I am now a banku seller; do you think it is easy to even land such a job? People held shows just to mock me. Do you know my salary? Can you compare it to the eatery I manage now?

“For over four years before I left Ghana, I was not shooting any movie because producers believed I was outdated. It was at a meeting they agreed to sideline me. I would have been long dead if I was still in Ghana due to hunger,” she fumed.

She described it as disappointing how people went out of their way to denigrate her well-earned reputation.
