Ghana’s representative at the just-ended World Miss University in Cambodia made her country proud after she was adjudged peace ambassador.
That is the closest Ghana came to the crown since the pageant started some 28 years ago.
The grand finale of the pageant was held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Koh Pich Theatre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It witnessed more than 80 ladies from across the globe competing to clinch the crown of World Miss University 2017.
Miss Cuba Claudia Moras Baez was crowned winner of World Miss University 2017. Nina Yevtushenko of Ukraine was the first runner-up, while Daniela Gods Romanovska of Latvia finished as the second runner-up.
The World Miss University is an international beauty contest held annually in Seoul, South Korea, since 1986, with an average of about 70 contestants every year. The event is to select World Miss University peace corp representatives.
Serwaa was picked for the peace ambassador due to her peaceful nature while taking part in the pageant. She is expected to engage in activities to abolish all forms of racial discrimination and establish international society for peace and friendship. She is also to promote harmony, friendship and cooperation in pursuit of global human society without war.
The final year student of Central University is expected to return to Ghana very soon.
