Nigerian afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has travelled out of the country barely 48 hours after his release from prison.
The singer was remanded at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) on the orders of Yaba Chief Magistrate Court for assaulting a police officer in a viral video.
However, the Dailypost reported that he was granted bail on Tuesday after spending eight days in detention.
Kuti was in court on Wednesday, for his trial at the Chief Magistrate Court, Yaba in Lagos but the proceedings were adjourned to July 3, 2023, due to the magistrate’s absence.
On Thursday, the singer announced via his Instastory that he was on his way to Switzerland for the commencement of his Europe tour.
Sharing a picture of himself in a plane, he wrote, “Euro tour kicks off tonight in Zurich.”
