Shatta Wale, Wizkid Unite At ‘Ghana Meets Naija’

Shatta Wale performed with Nigerian music icon Wizkid at the 2018 edition of ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ concert in Accra on Saturday to end a perceived eight-month long feud.

In November 2017, Shatta started a social media ‘war’ between Ghanaians and Nigerians following a comment he made in an interview that Wizkid is not a superstar.

He reportedly said he didn’t see anything “extraordinary” about Wizkid even though he claims to be the best African artiste. He added that meeting the ‘Show You The Money’ hitmaker will not be a stunner, instead Wizkid should rather be amazed when he comes face-to-face with him. The statement triggered a lot of reactions among Nigerians and Ghanaians.

Shatta had resistance from Wizkid’s fans but that didn’t stop him from making his point. He took it further to threaten Wizkid by firing gunshots in a social media video and also recorded a ‘diss’ song to that effect. But Wizkid never replied.

After performing a few of his songs at the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ concert, Wizkid paused to announce Shatta Wale as one of his surprises for the fans.

“Shatta Wale is my brother,” he introduced him on stage.

The auditorium of the Fantasy Dome went into frenzy when Shatta Wale entered with the song, ‘Freedom’, to hug Wizkid; leaving revellers with a moment that will etch on their hearts for a long time.

“Wizkid is my blood. If I say Wizkid is superstar then Shatta Wale is also superstar,” Shatta said when he paused his performance to make a statement. He left the stage after he performed his latest song, ‘Gringo’.

“Together we push. One Africa, one love. Big shutout to Shatta Wale, one love to Shatta Wale. One love to Nigeria. Africans we are one,” Wizkid also said after Shatta left the stage.

The concert had different artistes on stage.

Patapaa got the crowd to cheer him just as Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kidi, Kuami Eugene and a host of others did.

Security men had a tough time controlling fans who kept jumping on stage to hug Wizkid. A plus-size lady who wore hot pants showing off her buttocks had to be carried off stage by four strong macho men after she refused to get off the stage. A lot more people who were not supposed to be on stage managed to get on stage during Shatta and Wizkid’s performance.

The rest of other artistes who performed were Tiwa Savage, Kwesi Arthur, Mr Eazi, Yaa Pono, Kurl Songx, Sista Afia, Fancy Gadam, Article Wan , Edem, Tic, Mayorkun other Nigerian artistes.
