Sir David Adjaye To Be On Sakyi-Addo’s Sunday Night Show

Renowned and celebrated architect, Sir David Adjaye, has been confirmed to be hosted by Kwaku Sakyi-Addo on his maiden show Sunday Night, which is set to premiere on Asaase Radio 99.5, on Sunday, June 14.

Sir Adjaye, the global icon in the architectural industry, will be the first guest to grace the show, as the budding radio station transitions into full operations this Sunday.

The veteran broadcaster, Mr. Sakyi-Addo, host of the talk show, will engage the founder of Adjaye Associates, Sir Adjaye, on diverse issues—from his personality, beliefs and family to his achievements.

Mr. Sakyi-Addo will delve deep into his profession and world acclaimed projects.

Born in Tanzania to Ghanaian parents, Sir Adjaye influences a range from contemporary art, music and science to African art forms and the civic life of cities.

He is a Ghanaian-British architect who has received international acclaim for his impact in his professional field.

In 2000, he founded Adjaye Associates, which today operates globally with studios in Accra, London and New York and projects spanning across the globe.

He received a Knighthood for services to architecture as part of Queen Elizabeth’s biannual honors program in 2016.

Sir Adjaye is an architect whose global celebrity and critical acclaim have transformed him into an idol of the architecture world and beyond.

He is currently the architect in charge of designing the National Cathedral project of the Government of Ghana.

Known for his ingenious use of materials and his sculptural ability, Sir Adjaye has established himself as an architect with an artist’s sensibility and vision. His projects range from private houses, bespoke furniture collections, product design, exhibitions and temporary pavilions to major arts centres, civic buildings and master plans.

Sir Adjaye’s largest project to date, The National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington DC, opened in the National Mall in Washington DC in 2016 and was named Cultural Event of the Year by The New York Times.

In 2017, Sir Adjaye was recognized as one of the 100 most influential people of the year by TIME Magazine.

About The Show

Sunday Night, will combine personality and current affairs, and is expected to debut at 7pm on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

It will feature Ghanaian, African and global newsmakers in a conversation with Kwaku Sakyi-Addo on a wide range of subjects—from business and the arts through science and politics.
