Snoop Dogg
American rapper Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar, has poked fun at Ghanaians over Nigeria’s kits for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Nigeria released the kits recently and it has been praised for its uniqueness.
CNN described the kits as the World Cup’s most anticipated football kit when it reported that queues snaked down London’s Regent’s Street on Friday as Nigeria fans waited to get their hands on the jersey.
Some of the fans queued outside Nike’s flagship store for several hours in the morning to get into the store.
Snoop Dogg took to social media to do a comparison in what many people say he was ridiculing Ghana for not appearing at the 2018 World Cup which starts June 14.
He shared a hilarious collage picture of some persons in Nigeria’s kit and another one of a Ghanaian in a funny outfit with the caption: ‘Ghanaian World Cup gear’.
The post generated a lot of attention in Africa, especially Ghana and Nigeria.
Some Ghanaians think Snoop has already started missing Ghana at the 2018 World Cup even before the tournament starts.
Ghana failed to make it to the World Cup after three successive appearances in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
