Stacy, McBrown, Fadda Dickson, Others Honoured At RTP Awards

Stacy Amoateng, television presenter and producer was on Saturday adjudged RTP Personality of the Year 2020 at this year’s edition of the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards held at the plush Kempinski hotel in Accra last Saturday.

The night also saw Stacy Amoateng, who is the CEO of Platinum Networks, taking home another award, Television Development Show Host of the Year.

The 10th edition of the awards was organised by Big Events Ghana to reward radio and television personalities who have over the years contributed immensely towards the development of radio and television in Ghana.

The awards ceremony attracted a large number radio and television personalities, the media and a section of stakeholders in the creative industry.

The much hyped event, which was hosted by Elvis Crystal and Roselyn Feli, witnessed live musical performances from Praye, Selina Boateng, KiDi, Epixode, Mr Drew, Krymi and a host of others.

Over 30 industry players were also rewarded for their hardwork, dedication and contribution to the development of radio and television industry in Ghana.

Actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown won two awards at the event, TV Entertainment Show Host of the Year and TV Presenter of the Year. The Managing Director (MD) of Despite Media, Fadda Dickson, was also honoured with Super Hero Award.

Patrick Osei Agyemang aka Country Man Songo of Adom TV was adjudged the TV Sports Show Host of the Year.

Honourary awards were awarded to thriving media personalities which includes Peace Fm’s morning show host, Kwame Sefa Kayi and the Chief Executive Officer of the EIB Network, Nat Kwabena Adisi, also known as Bola Ray, were named the RTP Personalities of the Decade (2010-2020).

New Day, which airs every weekday, won the TV Programme of the Year and TV Morning Programme of the Year while ‘Efiewura’ won the TV Local Series of the Year.

Newscaster Stephen Anti was also adjudged the TV Male Newscaster of the Year while Mentor and Music Music co-host Nana Kwadwo Addo was adjudged the TV Male Entertainment Show Host of the Year.

Despite Group emerged the Best Media Group of the Year and Media Group of the Decade while United Television (UTV), also a subsidiary network of the Despite Group, won TV Station of the Year.

Other award winners are Afia Pokua, Female Radio Presenter of the Year; DJ Aroma, Radio DJ of the Year; Johnson Adu (Angel Fm), Radio Gospel Show Host of the Year; African Child (Luv Fm), Radio Reggae Show Host of the Year; Akumaa Mama Zimbi (Adom TV), Radio Development Show Host of the Year, Andy Dosty (Hitz Fm), Radio Entertainment Talk Show Host of the Year, among others.
