The Black Stars yesterday failed to hold on to a 1-0 lead, courtesy an Andre Ayew first half sublime free kick to draw 1-1 with their Ethiopian counterparts in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Walia Ibex canceled the lead with few minutes to the end of the game to pick a point.
Ghana began well by probing from all angles but a spectacular double save by goalkeeper Teklemariam Shanko in the early exchanges of the match denied the Black Stars the lead in Johannesburg.
Ethiopia resumed the game strongly but failed to pull even until after the 70th minute.
Black Stars are now levelled on points at the top of the standings with South Africa on 10 points but the latter take on Zimbabwe in the other group game later yesterday.
Ghana will host Bafana Bafana in the last round at the Cape Coast Stadium this Sunday.
