State Housing MD Supports Alma Mater

The Managing Director of State Housing Company, Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, and a Deputy Minister of Defence under the Ex John Mahama administration Kenneth Adjei has donated some PPEs to their Alma Mater, in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital.

The two top politicians who belong to the ruling New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress completed
Martyrs of Uganda Preparatory school in 1989 and thought it wise to give back to their school.

The PPE includes Veronica buckets, boxes of disposable nose masks, liquid soaps, boxes of hand sanitizers, packs of hand tissues among others at an undisclosed amount.

The State Housing MD at the presentation said the donation is part of their contributions to support the school fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Nana Appiah said that they chose to come in at this critical point to help the school ease the burden the pandemic has imposed on them both financially and operationally which includes day-to-day teaching and learning activities.

He noted that in this covid-19 era teachers must ensure that students are protected with the covid-19 protocols to help curtail the spread of the pandemic.

He further, called on parents to support their wards to complement the efforts of teachers and government to help the lives of the children.

Nana Appiah and Kenneth Adjei, after the presentation met with the students and encouraged them to learn hard since they are the future leaders.

They explained that the government is doing its best by providing them with the necessary support and the school through the appropriate authorities are also ensuring that the students adhere to the coronavirus pandemic protocols that have been rolled out by the government and the Ghana Education Service(GES).

Receiving the items, the headmaster of the school, Anane Druyeh and the Headmistress, Rev Sister Mary Chubugum
expressed gratitude to the former students for their kind gesture.

Rev Sister Mary Chubugum added that this is not the first time past students have surprised them with such generous support but they are always grateful for every little support that comes in.
