‘Stonebwoy Is A Genius When It Comes To Music’

Jamaican DJ cum dancehall artiste, Beenie Man, has praised Stonebwoy for his exploits in the music industry.

Speaking on Prime Morning hosted by Jay Foley, he touted the achievements of Stonebwoy in the music industry, stating that the award-winning dancehall act is one of the few artistes selling Ghana positively on the international market through his music.

“When it comes to music, Stonebwoy is a genius and I respect him for that. He’s an artiste who has always put himself in a place where people can know to say yeah, this is Ghana,” he said.

Asked by host Jay Foley, why Stonebwoy was his choice for a collaboration on the song ‘Shuga’, Beenie Man explained that the choice was not only based on the good relationship that exists between them but also because Stonebwoy’s name came up during his search.

“When it comes to dancehall music in Ghana, Stonebwoy is always there. He is coming from the streets of this city and he’s made himself something of this city and he’s become one of the biggest artistes of this city,” he added.

He further disclosed his intentions to have other collaborations with Stonebwoy and called for more of such collaborations between Ghanaian and Jamaican artistes.

Since his entry into the Ghanaian music industry a couple of years back, Stonebwoy has won the hearts of many music lovers in the country, especially in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale, where he has staged series  of live performances.

He has worked and performed on a number of local platforms alongside a number of celebrated Ghanaian artistes.

With his electrifying and energetic performance, he has attracted a large fan base across the world having staged performances in UK, USA, Australia, Italy, Holland among others.

He has shared stage with international acts such as Lauryn Hill, Alkaline, Busy Signal, Popcaan, Morgan Heritage, Wizkid and a host of others.
