Popular Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known in the showbiz scene as Stonebwoy, will headline this year’s edition of the annual City Splash Festival slated for Sunday, May 29 at Brockwell Park, Brixton in the UK.

City Splash Festival is a one-day reggae music, food, and culture festival held in London. Taking over Beckenham Place Park in south London, the festival is a celebration of Caribbean culture, anchored in music.

The festival aims to help celebrate the impact and importance of Caribbean and African music on British culture, according to the organisers.

BEATWAVES gathered that performing artistes like Stonebwoy who have carved a niche for themselves on the world music scene were selected for the festival based on criteria such as originality, musicality, stage presence and diversity.

Touted as one of the biggest gathering of performing musicians, stakeholders and music lovers, the festival will see the performance of over 100 respected artistes across the globe.

International music promoters, music producers, artiste managers among others from across the world will attend the event to look for music business opportunities.

Stonebwoy is expected to delight fans with some of his danceable songs which include ‘Bawasaaba’, ‘Go Higher’, ‘Baafira’, ‘People Dey’, ‘Come From Far’ among others at the festival.

The line-up of performing artistes, by all indications, is one of the toughest, parading the likes of Mr. Eazi, Barrington Levy, Protege, Kranium, Sister Nancy, Luciano, Christopher Ellis, Congo Natty, Dreya Mac, Dubwise Jamaica, Eva Lazarus, and General Levy among others.

It would be a tough call for anyone seeking competition, but Stonebwoy, blessed with sweet yet powerful voice, is ready to claim the title as the best performer.

The maiden edition of the festival was the talk of the summer with many people saying it was one of the best new events to hit London in a long time.

“Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeats influence on youth culture in London run deep, the genre’s heartbeat rhythm and lyrics about love, redemption and life deeply affect fashions, lifestyles, friendships and unify strangers internationally. We’re hyped to be bringing it again to South London on May 2022,” the organisers said in a statement.
