Fredrick Opare-Ansah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, has commissioned one of the many constructed mechanized boreholes for the people of Metsonya, near Suhum.

The project, estimated to cost a little over GH¢30,000, which can serve the entire community and even beyond, was commissioned in fulfillment of a promise made to the people of the area during the 2016 electioneering campaign.

The residents made the appeal to the law maker when he went there to campaign in 2016.

After the commissioning of the project, Mr. Frederick Opare-Ansah thanked the constituents for their commitment, hard work and sacrifices that ensured the successful completion of the project.

He said one of the problems he faces as an MP is the unwillingness of some constituents to release their pieces of land for such community projects.

He tasked the people to take good care of the facility and promised to come to their aid whenever it develops a major fault.

Prince Odame, speaking on behalf of the residents after the official commissioning ceremony, thanked the MP for the kind gesture and asked for more developmental projects in the area.

He appealed to the MP to let the road ministry come to rehabilitate the road and provide them with street lights.

Responding, the MP noted that the road leading to the community is part of the Suhum township (road) contract that had been awarded and would soon be put in a proper shape. He promised to help the community to overcome all its challenges in due time.
