Sule Suraj Urges Movie Stakeholders, Govt To Promote And Protect Local Movie Industry

Ghanaian actor Sule Suraj has called on the stake holders in the Ghanaian movie industry to come together and work as a team to promote and protect Ghanaian movie.

Featured in a number of movies, Sule Suraj noted that if Ghanaian movie industry is marketed well it will see progress and it will reflect in the pocket of both actors and producers.

He mentioned that there are a lot of people who have contributed immensely towards the progress of the Ghanaian movie industry but are now bankrupt due lack of support from both Ghanaian and the government.

He however urged the government to make laws to help protect and salvage the local movie industry.

He pointed out that government had not done enough to protect the local movie industry and this had largely led to the downward surge of its activities of exalting Ghana’s culture.

According to him, government is not helping the local film industry, because the influx of foreign contents on our networks is becoming a disturbing phenomenon, adding “I think the government should do more to protect the local industry to help preserve our culture”.

He stressed that one of the major ways to help revive the local film industry was by improving the cinema infrastructure adding that it would also help facilitate the premiering of their content, as well as revenue for the producers and all stakeholders in the movie chain.

He was not happy about the influx of foreign contents on the Ghanaian audio-visual platform which according to him was becoming very worrisome, which impedes Ghana’s cultural values.
