Founder of Teshie-based Division Three side Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah FC, Umar Farouk Jafaru has put together a befitting football gala in honour of its chief patron Hassanal Bolkiah’s 70th birthday anniversary.
The well organized soccer event attracted four teams comprising Iran FC, Texas FC, Kingdom FC and ultimate winners Sultan Hassanal Bolkia FC.
They defeated Iran FC 3-2 on penalties after 1-1 drawn game to lift the trophy. The Best Player prize went to Sultan FC’s Daniel Quaye.
New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate Dr Oko Boye urged the players and the youth in Teshie area to remain peaceful and avoid actions that will foment trouble before, during and after the November polls.
Sultana FC founder, Jafaru described the competition as a huge success saying, “It’s been a fruitful event; a befitting one for our patron’s 70th birthday anniversary celebration. He has been supportive all these while, hence this tournament in his honour.”
Sultana FC, named after Sultan of Brunei(Prime Minister) was formed in 2001, has Ex WO 1 Joseph Ayizangah as Technical Director, Sgt. Ignatius Harry Sheshie, head coach and Sgt. Elizabeth Adjah T. as his deputy.
