A MAN at Moshie Zongo in Kumasi, Awal Anian, has been treated and discharged from the hospital after he was allegedly bitten on the left ear by a suspected thief, who is alleged to have stolen his mobile phone.
According to a Tafo-Pankrono Police report, three suspected male thieves entered the victim’s room at Moshie Zongo in his absence around 8:30am on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Upon his return, Awal realized that his mobile phone, valued at GH¢18,200 has been stolen from his room. His mother then informed him that three men entered his room in his absence.
Awal then confronted the three about his stolen mobile phone. This generated into a misunderstanding between him and the suspects, who subjected Awal to severe beatings.
After they had thoroughly beaten Awal for questioning them about his missing mobile phone, one of the suspects, who the police have since identified as Baba Musah, bit part of Awal’s left ear.
Awal, who bled profusely, then went to the Tafo-Pankrono Police Station to officially lodge a complaint, where he was issued a medical report to seek immediate attention to stop the bleeding.
According to the Tafo-Pankrono police, all the three male suspects, including Baba Musah, who bit part of the complainant’s left ear, have since gone into hiding as police are hunting for them.
“One of suspects, who was later identified as Baba Musah, bit part of complaint’s left ear off and fled after perpetrating the act”, a police report said “No arrest has been made yet. Efforts are underway to apprehend culprits”.
