The 2nd edition of the much anticipated Syndey Katz Junior Open tournament is scheduled from January 3 to 8 next year at the National Tennis Centre, Accra.
The six-day junior’s tournament has generated great levels of excitement within the Ghanaian tennis fraternity.
It is organised by the Michael Nortey Educational and Tennis Foundation with support from Activly Sports.
Former Davis Cup player and President of the foundation Michael Nortey said, “We need good foundations and this is exactly what my Foundation is doing in developing and promoting tennis in Ghana.”
He explained that there will be contests in both boys and girls categories for U-12, U-14 and U-16.
According to Catherine Morton, CEO of Activly Sports who also doubles as Vice Chair of Accra Social Tennis Club, their collaboration aims to unearth tennis talents and ensure healthy lifestyle in the kids.
