The Member of Parliament (MP) for Takoradi, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has launched a free driving school training programme for his constituents.
This was in fulfilment of a promise the MP made to the people in the run-up to the 2024 elections.
The initiative will give the youth and all interested persons free access to driving lessons, road safety education, and licences.
During a brief ceremony to launch the initiative, over 1,700 participants registered for the training.
The driving school will provide practical driving skills, road safety and driving etiquette to the applicants.
The MP stressed that the initiative was aimed at equipping beneficiaries with valuable driving skills and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
Meanwhile, the constituents have highly commended the MP for fulfilling his promise.
They were hopeful that the move will go a long way to help create jobs for the unemployed youth in Takoradi.
