Team Ghana Pitch Camp In Cape… Ahead Of African Games

Ghana’s representatives in this year’s African Games (Team Ghana) have pitched camp in Cape Coast ahead of the competition.

Members of the various disciplines are in camp to put their respective houses in order ahead of the Rabat championship.

It was Professor Peter Twumasi, who welcomed the athletes and coaches from 14 disciplines into residential camp in the Cape Coast Stadium last Saturday.

Also present to welcome the team were the NSA Regional Director George Osafo, George Owusu Ansah, Chairman of Logistics Sub Committee of the International Games and Competitions Committee (IGCC), and other technical officers. They inspected the facilities available at the Stadium to support the training of the athletes.

Later, he met with the athletes and welcomed them to the facility. He then assured them of Government’s support for the competition and advised them to exercise the highest form of discipline in the camp.

He also praised the technical team including the federations and associations for their professionalism in nurturing the teams.

Derrick Abrefa, a member of the table tennis team on behalf of Team Ghana thanked Professor Peter Twumasi for his encouragement and assured him that they would do their best to lift high the flag of Ghana in the upcoming African Games in Rabat, Morocco.
