Techiman City Relegated …Wa All Stars Crowned Champs

Premiership debutants Techiman City lost their elite status just a season in the domestic top flight league yesterday.

Another relegation threatened side, Berekum Chelsea handed them their obituary ticket with a 4-0 thrashing in their decider at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Like the visitors, the home side needed the win at all cost  to survive in the league which resulted in Eric Ametepe hitting the back of the net first, while Stephen Owusu increased the tally.

Thereafter, Nana Tei Horsu added his name to the score-sheet from the spot and Asiwome Fumador made it four.

City, whose promotion was characterized by controversies thus join Sekondi-Hasaacas despite 3-0 win over champions Wa All Stars and New Edubiase.

Meanwhile, All Stars were crowned the 2015/16 champions at the Essipong Stadium, Sekondi.

The Kwasi Nyantakyi men laid their hands on the title after their 2-1 win over Aduana Stars last Wednesday with a game remaining.

All Stars, the first league champions from the North were decorated with medals as well as the new giant trophy at stake.
