The NDC financier turned NPP activist

A FORMER international footballer, Eliasu Mohammed, who has declared his intention to contest the Tema East parliamentary seat as independent candidate has joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to support its cause.

Mr. Eliasu who was a member and a financier of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tema East Constituency declared his support for the incumbent Member of Parliament, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Transport at a press conference held in Tema yesterday.

Touching on his earlier decision to contest, he said “I wanted to contest in the 2020 polls because I wanted to champion the interests and aspirations of the teeming youth of the constituency.”

He continued that the leadership of the NDC in the Greater Accra Region and the constituency approached him to rescind his decision and support their parliamentary candidate, Isaac Ashai Odamtten.

However, Mr. Eliasu said after he agreed to their request, he later realized that plans for the youth by the NDC’s parliamentary candidate were nothing compared to the one being offered by the NPP’s candidate hence his decision to join forces with the incumbent to retain his seat and continue his support for the youth.
