The suspects
THREE MORE suspects have been arrested in connection with the daylight armed robbery attack on a jewellery shop at Adabraka in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects, identified as Fatao Mohammed, also known as Motorway; Nashiru Abubakari, also known as Soldier; and Sadick Abubakar Satire, also known as 50 cent, were arrested on January 19, 2026.
According to a police statement, the three are believed to be the main gang leaders of the robbery syndicate.
This brings the total number of suspects arrested so far in connection with the incident to seven.
The other suspects in police custody include Hamza Agerego, also known as Nene Bawku or Lambert; Alhassan Elliasu, also known as Arab Man, Salim Mohammed, also known as Fariwata and Ali Mohammed, popularly known as Bawasam.
The Adabraka jewellery shop robbery, which occurred on Saturday, November 2, 2024, threw the Adabraka market area into panic when four masked and heavily armed men carried out a bold robbery in broad daylight.
The assailants targeted a man sitting in a red Toyota Corolla car parked near the busy market, firing several warning shots into the air to disperse traders and shoppers.
Eyewitnesses said the gunshots triggered chaos, forcing people to flee and abandon their stalls as the robbers carried out the attack in full view of the public. One person sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
