Amakye Dede, Kwaisey Pee and Sarkodie on stage
Highlife legend Abrantie Amakye Dede on Saturday, December 29 enjoyed a huge backing at a live musical concert dubbed ‘Amakye Dede @ 45’, which was held at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi.
Backed by his own Hi-Kings Band, Amakye Dede’s performance was electrifying, as he gave his fans a feel of good Ghanaian danceable highlife music.
The ‘Iron Boy’ hitmaker performed most of his popular songs like ‘Akonoba’, ‘Bebrebe’, ‘Iron Boy’, ‘Odo Nfoni Abebi Bewua Eso’, ‘Wanware Me A’, ‘Odo Mani Agyina’, ‘Ohohoo Batani’, ‘Akwadaa Wisua’, among others.
The nearly three-hour non-stop performance by the highlife legend truly lived up to the hype.
The musical concert featured icons such as Kwaisey Pee, Ofori Amponsah, Lilwin and a host of others.
Sarkodie also performed at the event.
He wowed fans with his fast-tempo rap that got them screaming with excitement.
There were other fantastic performances from Lilwin, Ofori Amponsah, Kwaisey Pee and Adom FM’s Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei, who also spiced up the show.
It was, indeed, an unforgettable night for residents of Kumasi and all those who travelled from far to the Garden City to take part in the concert.
The event was organised by Luv 99.5 FM and Nhyira 104.5 FM in collaboration with Salt Media GH and May Day Entertainment to celebrate Amakye Dede’s 45th anniversary in the Ghanaian music industry.
