The H4P (Here for Perfection) Organisation marked its 13th anniversary celebration with the organisation of its maiden Inter-Tertiary Ability Praise Concert (APC), an event that adds to the NGO’s legacy of promoting ability in disability.

The concert, which took place last Saturday in Accra at the Fire City Chapel, drew hundreds of music enthusiasts who saw an incredible exhibition of talent, including spoken word, singing, poetry readings, and choreography.

Some selected disabled students from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, and University of Education performed during the event.

First held in February 2022, the yearly concert is the leading entertainment event in Ghana, giving people with disabilities (PWDs) a platform to perform on.

In an interview conducted prior to the event, Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, the CEO and founder of the H4P Organisation, emphasised the distinctiveness of this year’s APC.

“The Inter-Tertiary APC encouraged parents and guardians to seek further for their kids, regardless of disability, by highlighting tertiary education for PWDs.

“Additionally, it sought to bring attention to the challenges faced by PWDs in tertiary institutions,” he said.

Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman addressed these concerns with legislators and stakeholders, revealing that the vision and major project of the H4P Organisation—the creation of the Ability University College, a tertiary institution in Ghana devoted to PWDs—were at the centre of this year’s Inter-Tertiary APC.

Through numerous life-changing projects and initiatives, Bishop Hackman has successfully advocated for people with disabilities for 13 years.

The event’s special guest of honour, Eng Dr. Mrs. Millicent Agangiba, Head of the Department of Information Technology at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), commended Bishop Hackman for his efforts.

Certificates of participation and gifts were presented to participants from tertiary institutions, and Bishop Hackman received citations in appreciation and recognition of his consistent dedication to bringing dignity to disability.
