Timaya and Shatta Wale
Weekend reports from Nigeria have quoted Nigerian dancehall musician Timaya for saying he doesn’t know Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale has earlier called Timaya a shame. The controversial Ghanaian musician has since last week been trending all over Twitter after he incurred the wrath of Nigerians after he said in an interview that he didn’t see Wizkid as a superstar.
After a banter with Wizkid’s fans on the social platform, Shatta went ahead to record a ‘beef song’ for Wizkid in which he called out Patoranking and Timaya.
Wizkid has since not said anything, but Timaya can’t be quiet.
He was quoted to have said, “So people said I should make a diss track for Shatta Wale, please who is Shatta Wale. Is he a singer, shoemaker or a plumber?”
Shatta Wale is yet to return Timaya’s fire since he is not known for keeping quiet over comments like that.
Meanwhile back home, the Ghana Police Service (GPS) has made known its intention to investigate Shatta Wale for publicly firing a gun on social media in connection to his ‘beef’ against Wizkid and co.
ACP David Eklu, Public Affairs Director of the GPS, stated that the incident is potentially an offence but they need to investigate further.
“If you fire a gun without lawful and necessary reasons it is an offence. I have seen the video. I don’t know the circumstance under which the video was shot. For all we know it could have been tailored to create an impression,” ACP Eklu said on HITZ FM.
