Two Bankers Win CIMG Topmost Awards

THE CHIEF Executive Officer of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Daniel Wilson Addo, and Abena Osei-Poku, Managing Director, Absa Bank Ghana, won the 2021 Marketing Man and Woman of the year respectively at the 33rd edition of the CIMG awards held Saturday in Accra.

The awards ceremony, themed “Creative Marketing and Innovation in A Volatile Global Economy” saw the two bankers receiving citations and certificates of honour, personal accident Insurance covers from Glico Life worth GH₵200,000 each, an executive weekend stay for two at the Coconut Grove Hotel, Elmina in the Central Region and gift hampers.

According to the organisers, the two winners with years of experience, have exhibited exemplary leadership in transforming the banking industry and therefore are worth celebrating.

Mr. Wilson, with 28 years post-qualification experience in the banking sector, joined Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited as a pioneer Managing Director when it was formed in 2018 to resolve the banking crisis in the country.

He has integrated people, processes, and technology as well as developed bespoke products that satisfy the needs of customers making CBG the second largest banking branch network in Ghana with 114 branches and an ultra-modern SME centre that serves the needs of our SME customers.

Ms. Osei-Poku, on the other hand, has led her team through a successful rebranding exercise of the bank from Barclays Africa Group into Absa Bank. Under her leadership, the organisation witnessed tremendous progress in the way of promoting intergenerational, sustainability and driving thoughts of leadership through the provision of insights to help in the solution of societal challenges.

She has also demonstrated Absa Bank’s commitment to the SME sector by providing workable solutions to the needs of customers which is key to Ghana’s economic growth.
