UG Unhappy Over Attack On Student

Management of the University of Ghana (UG) has expressed displeasure over an assault on a student of the institution.

According a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs, Stella A. Amoa, the student was attacked on Saturday May 4, 2019, along the road leading from the Africa Union hostels to Evandy hostel situated on the University’s campus.

It says “the victim, a level 400 student is currently on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.”

The statement indicated that “a team of University officials led by the Vice-Chancellor and representatives from the student leadership have visited him at the hospital.”

It added that “he is stable and responding to treatment.”

The Ghana Police and the National Security, it says, assisted by the University security were conducting investigations into the incident.

The statement noted that “a fuller report will be issued once investigations are completed and the University receives a report.”
