United Slap £115m Tag On De Gea

David de Gea

Manchester United are bracing themselves for another Real Madrid approach for David de Gea — and have reportedly slapped a £115 million price tag on the keeper.

Real president Florentino Perez has been after the Spanish shot-stopper for years and almost signed him in the summer of 2015 but a last-minute administrative error prevented the deal from going through.

However, with the Spanish club still desperate to strengthen their goalkeeping ranks, De Gea is expected to be at the centre of another transfer tussle.

According to Sport, United are determined to keep the player and have informed Real Madrid that they will demand £115m for him, regardless of the fact his contract runs out in 2019.

Jose Mourinho has made De Gea’s future one of his main priorities, with the keeper performing impressively again this season, but knows his No 1 is keen on a return to Spain.

Sport also report that Madrid will not meet United’s current demands and would prefer to wait until his current contract runs out; keeping Keylor Navas between the sticks in the meantime.

The Spaniards have an interest in Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, who is also wanted by Paris Saint-German, but De Gea is their No 1 target.

De Gea has been in fine form this season for United — only Swansea stopper Lukasz Fabianski has made more saves than him so far.
