Award-winning philanthropist and media personality, Vanessa Gyan, continues to make impact in the maternal health sector in Ghana.

With her Post Pregnancy Boujie Express under The Sincerely, Vee Foundation, she focuses on educating mothers on the importance of pre/postnatal care, self-love, CPR and motherhood as a whole. The initiative, which was launched back in 2017, made a mark with its bi-annual seminars and assisting in discharging detained mothers from various hospitals in Accra. Over the 2021 Easter season, The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express with support from Life Commission discharged 25 mothers alongside their newborns from Ridge Hospital, Korle Bu Hospital and Ogbojo Polyclinic, totalling in the amount of GH¢43,000.

On Tuesday, May 18, Vanessa Gyan, alongside Akosua Amponsaa of Beautymarked and Goodwill Ministries Inc., distributed care packages to mothers attending their antenatal appointments at The Beulah Chps Zone in Dzen Ayor.  Each package contained baby clothes, diapers, wipes, facemasks and a maternal health brochure.  The distribution of care packages will continue weekly as the Ogbojo neighborhood is the main focus of The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express for 2021.

Madam Gladys Addo Osei, the Assembly Member for the Ogbojo Electoral Area, expressed her gratitude for the maternal health support being given to the community.

“I am beyond grateful for the continuous support of The Sincerely, Vee Foundation and The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express.  All our lives have been flipped upside down over the past year yet people have continued to lend a helping hand in spreading joy to Ghanaian mothers.  We’ve received an overwhelming support from international donors, which is why we will be able to sustain providing care packages to clinics in the Ogbojo area.  I’m just so thankful that I can use my platform to touch another life,” said Vanessa Gyan.
