Vanguard Multimedia Ltd, a Tamale-based integrated multimedia company with interests in radio, television and digital media, has formally commenced operations in Tamale in the Northern Region.
The launch marks the emergence of a multimedia operation built around the idea that quality journalism, compelling content and commercially sustainable media can be developed from Northern Ghana and reach audiences nationally and internationally.
According to management, the outlet will focus on delivering credible journalism, relevant programming and meaningful opportunities for businesses, institutions and communities to engage with its audiences.
At the heart of its radio operations are two stations with distinct identities.
NorthCiti Radio 90.1 FM is positioned as an urban, English-language station offering news, analysis, entertainment, music, sports and lifestyle. Zosimli Radio 102.9 FM takes a more community-oriented approach, with a strong focus on Northern Ghana, local issues, culture and everyday community experiences.
Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Ato Afful, said the company was established to demonstrate that a modern and commercially sustainable media organisation could be built from Northern Ghana while maintaining national standards.
“Our ambition is not simply to add another media organisation to the Northern Ghana landscape. We want to build a platform that creates value for audiences, businesses, institutions and communities,” he said.
He said Vanguard Multimedia will continue to invest in quality content, professional journalism, technology and partnerships, noting positive feedback during test transmission on sound and picture quality.
Commercial Director, Isaac Twumasi-Quantus, said the integrated approach allows clients to combine radio, television, digital advertising, branded content, sponsorships, events and activations.
“The opportunity is to move beyond treating radio, television and digital as separate channels. We can bring them together to help businesses and institutions reach the right audiences,” he said.
He added that the company’s ecosystem includes the NorthCiti Media Training Center for developing media practitioners and the NorthCiti Music Recording Studio for audio production.
With operations now underway, the company says it will expand its content and build partnerships that connect Northern Ghana to audiences across the country and beyond.
