Velma Owusu-Bempah Grabs Three Nominations For GOWA Awards

Award winning milliner, Velma Owusu-Bempah, is one of the successful women ‘gunning’ for top honours in the upcoming 2019 Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA).

She has received three nominations for the award ceremony scheduled for November 8, at the National Theatre in Accra.

These include Outstanding Woman of the year, Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur and ‘Shero’ of the Year categories.

“I’m more than excited to get three nominations from this year’s GOWA awards. I’m overwhelmed by the love and goodwill you’ve showed me. Thank you so much without you the awards will not come to us,” she said in a short conversation with NEWS-ONE.

The second edition of the awards gala would confer honours on Ghanaian women who have impacted the growth of the country in areas including; showbiz, politics, health, education and entrepreneurship.

The likes of Nana Ama Mcbrown, Berla Mundi, Anne Kusi- Gyamfi, Regina Van-Helvet, Baciara Bentie Abigail and Martha Ankomah have all received nominations for the Brand Influencer of the Year category.

Velma is competing with other hardworking woman such as Afia Amankwaa Tamakloe, Sally Akua Amoakowaa Mensah, Melissa Adarkwah and Tracy Boakye for the Outstanding Woman of the Year category.

The CEO of Velma & Accessories remains one of Ghana’s favourite milliners. She was the first Ghanaian milliner to launch men’s hat line last year. She has done a lot in her field as well as also involved in a number of charity activities to give back to society.
