Virtuous Ladies Of Tampa Bay Supports KBTH

The maternity wards of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) received a timely boost of compassion and hope when the Virtuous Ladies of Tampa Bay (VLTB) made a generous monetary donation to support vulnerable new mothers.

The donation was used to settle outstanding medical bills for six women who had successfully delivered their babies but were unable to be discharged due to their inability to pay hospital fees.

For these mothers and their families, the intervention brought immense relief, allowing them to return home with their newborns and begin the next chapter of their lives without the burden of lingering debt.

President of the group, Mrs. Verlinda Dennis, during the presentation, emphasised that the gesture aligns squarely with the organisation’s core mission which is to assist and support underserved women and children.

“By focusing on maternal health and postnatal care, the group seeks to address one of the most critical and sensitive stages in a woman’s life, particularly for those facing financial hardship,” she said.

Hospital staff at KBTH expressed deep appreciation for the donation, noting that such acts of kindness not only improve patient outcomes but also restore dignity and peace of mind to mothers who might otherwise remain detained against their will.

The Virtuous Ladies of Tampa Bay, a women-led philanthropic group based in the United States, continues to demonstrate its commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities through practical support and meaningful outreach.

Their contribution to the maternity wards of Korle Bu stands as a powerful reminder of the impact of collective goodwill and the importance of caring for women and children at the heart of society.
