Vivo Energy has celebrated this year’s Chocolate Day with students of the New Horizon Special Needs School in Accra.

The event, themed, “Leaving No One Behind,” saw company employees engaging in activities like dancing and musical chairs with the students.

As part of their commitment to healthcare enhancement, Vivo Energy donated essential clinical items such as Glucometers, pulse oximeters, thermometer guns, digital weighing scales, first aid boxes, gloves, blood pressure monitors, face masks, and sanitizers to support the school’s daily operations.

These items are expected to improve the quality of life of the students, aid in their medical care, and contribute to their educational and developmental needs.

To add a sweet touch to the celebration, Vivo branded chocolates were shared with the students.

Corporate Communications Manager at Vivo Energy Ghana, Shirley Tony Kum, highlighted that this year’s Chocolate Day celebration is part of their “Energizing Hope Campaign,” which aims to empower individuals and communities by providing resources, support, and opportunities to overcome challenges and access essential services for a sustainable future.

“We are very excited to join pupils and management of the New Horizon Special Needs school to mark this year’s Valentine’s Day and donate items that will help with the day-to-day operations of the school,” she said.

Ms. Shirley reiterated the company’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion through fostering more equitable society by ensuring that all persons regardless of their abilities have access to opportunities and resources.

Deputy Principal of the Vocational Department, New Horizon Special Needs School, Mariama Obeng, expressed gratitude to Vivo Energy for their support in providing clinical items that will enhance healthcare services for the students.

The school, which caters to 62 students aged 4 to 67, relies heavily on donations from organizations like Vivo Energy as they do not receive government support.

“We are appealing to the government and other benevolent organizations to support us to be able to accommodate more students to train them on vocational skills so they can also contribute their quota to national development” she added.
