The women’s wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region celebrated this year’s Mothers’ Day with the less privileged children of the Remar Ghana Children’s Home in Ho in the Volta Region.
All 18 women organizers in the region joined their Regional Women’s Organizer, Afi Adzagbo, to donate assorted food items to the children and spend time with them.
The items donated included bags of rice, packs of tin fish, drinks, bags of water, nose masks, toiletries, hand sanitizers, tomato pastes and Veronica bucket.
Madam Adzagbo said the underprivileged must always be given special attention to bring them hope.
She recounted how she had always tried her best to get support for the vulnerable children and made personal donations to motive others to join in assisting them.
The Regional Organizer of the NPP, Kosi Bodja, who was also present, encouraged the children to study hard, dream big and work towards a better future.
He also urged them to adhere to the protocols against the Covid-19.
The caretaker of the home, William Lartey Edwards, thanked the NPP Women for the kind gesture on a special Day like Mothers’ day, adding that “you have shown that you are true mothers.”
He appealed for support to pay electricity bills, a television set, ceiling fans, mattresses, chairs and tables as well as personal effects like dresses, foot wears and bags for the children.
In a response, Madam Adzagbo promised to address as much of the needs as possible.
