Wall Collapse Leaves Two Traders In Critical Condition

The accident scene being cordoned off

Two traders are battling for their lives at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) after a wall collapsed on them at Suame Roundabout in the Ashanti Region.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, September 9, 2025, was triggered when a vehicle working for Rango Constructions — contractors of the Suame Interchange project — crashed into the wall.

Eyewitnesses said the impact caused the structure to cave in, trapping the women under heavy rubble. One victim reportedly suffered broken legs while the other sustained multiple injuries.

“They were severely hurt. We had to rush and pull them out before sending them to the hospital,” a bystander narrated.

The victims, both described as critical, are currently undergoing treatment at KATH.

Police have launched investigations into the matter to establish what went wrong.

The development has sparked fresh concerns about safety measures around the ongoing Suame Interchange construction, with residents calling for stricter supervision to prevent future mishaps.
