We Will Get There… Kotoko Coach Promises

Maxwell Konadu

Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu, has appealed passionately to the club’s followers to remain calm after a not-too-impressive league opener against Eleven Wonders in Accra.

Kotoko drew 1-1 with the Techiman-based side; a result that has stoked debate among the Porcupine family.

But Konadu has stated that the team will get there with time, and has as a result called on the fans to keep rallying support for the club.

It was the Porcupine Warriors that opened the scoring in the first half but the visitors fought back to level the scores after recess.

He said after the game, “Gelling together is not easy, we need time but unfortunately we don’t have time so I am hoping we play much better in the coming games. We will get there.”

The former Black Stars trainer added, “I urge my supporters to keep calm; we will play much better than what we saw today. We have a couple of injuries in camp and that is why we couldn’t bring on board everybody.

“We are managing the situation but those who played today did their best even though we know it is not enough; but in the coming games we will make sure that we play much better.”

And responding to the effect of playing away from home, he said, “This playing away from home started from last season and it hasn’t been helping us. It is always better to be in front of your home fans, playing in Kumasi means a lot to the team.”

Kotoko travel’s next to face Berekum Chelsea this weekend.
