Retired soldier, Adamu Wahab, killed in Wenchi
TWO PERSONS, Nana Ameyaw aka God Bless and John Kofi Dekyi have been arrested by the police in Wenchi in Bono Region for allegedly killing a retired soldier, Adamu Wahab, on his farm.
A third suspect only named as Alhassan is on the run and the police are on his heels.
The death of Wahab has caused youth in Wenchi Zongo to go on rampage, setting ablaze the residence and washing bay of one of the suspects, Nana Ameyaw in the town.
According to family source, the retired deceased soldier popularly called Adamu Soldier left for the farm on last Monday but never returned.
The wife became alarmed and with the help of the family and community members, they organized a search party and eventually found his body in a river near his farm.
His wife suspected foul play and so reported his death to the police for investigation.
The Wenchi Municipal Police Commander, DSP Eric Awudzivi told the media the two suspects were picked up because they (suspects) had land litigation issues with Adamu Soldier, prior to his death.
He said investigations are ongoing
He implored the people of Wenchi and surrounding communities to furnish the police with information that will lead to the arrest of the third suspect.
