Western Togoland Announces New Taskforce For Key Assignments

In a significant move, the Western Togoland Governing and Defense Council, in collaboration with the Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF), has announced the establishment of a task force aimed at accomplishing three crucial assignments.

This development comes as part of the council’s efforts to assert its authority and consolidate governance in Western Togoland.

The task force, officially formed on Thursday, January 18, 2024, is mandated to carry out a comprehensive campaign against voting activities within all territories falling under the jurisdiction of Western Togoland.
The council, in a statement, elaborated on the significance and objectives of this decisive action.

They will also investigate and document individuals who aid or collaborate with the Ghanaian government in the unlawful arrest and detention of Western Togoland activists and monitor and record comments in support of the Ghanaian government’s actions.

The statement noted that, the move comes in the wake of the UN Human Rights Council’s Working Group on Arbitrary Detention ruling against Ghana.

The Human Rights Council has also demanded the release of Western Togoland activists, but the Ghanaian government has failed to comply.

The actions of the task force are therefore in response to what the Council considers to be violations of human rights and a futureless Union with Ghana.

Meanwhile, the Council has urged the public to stay away from any gatherings related to voting in Western Togoland.

As the council seeks to establish firm control over Western Togoland, it recognizes the necessity of executing effective measures to counter any effort that might undermine the region’s governance.
The campaign against voting within the region is seen as a crucial step towards maintaining unity, stability, and security.

The task force, armed with the responsibility of enforcing this campaign, will take action to discourage and prevent any voting activity within the borders of Western Togoland. The council aims to create awareness among the inhabitants regarding the potential repercussions of participating in elections that could be construed as impeding the region’s autonomy.

While the details of the three key assignments entrusted to the task force remain undisclosed, it is evident that the council and HSGF share a common vision in ensuring that the aspirations and interests of Western Togoland are upheld.

The Western Togoland Governing and Defense Council, in partnership with the Homeland Study Group Foundation, has taken a decisive step towards asserting their authority and safeguarding the autonomy of Western Togoland. As the task force embarks on their assigned duties, their success in implementing the campaign against voting within the region will likely play a pivotal role in shaping the path forward for Western Togoland.
