Dr. Bossman Asare, the Deputy EC Chair responsible for Corporate Services, conveyed this resounding affirmation during a press conference held in Accra on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Dr. Asare assured the gathered journalists that the EC’s operational infrastructure is well-equipped to effectively manage and safeguard the electoral process as the nation approaches the critical election period.

He emphasized that the recent incident involving missing laptops would not compromise the integrity or security of the electoral procedures in any way.

Addressing concerns surrounding the unaccounted-for equipment, Dr. Asare disclosed ongoing efforts in collaboration with security agencies to recover the laptops and bring the culpable individuals to justice.

He stated, “What we said was that five laptops are missing. We are working with the security agencies to arrest and prosecute the suspects.”

Furthermore, Dr. Asare conveyed a message of unwavering confidence in the EC’s capacity to orchestrate a flawless and successful electoral exercise in 2024.

He expressed, “We want to assure each and everyone and the good people of our country that our systems are secured and very robust. We are going to organize another transparent, credible election which will go down as one of the best.”

In conclusion, Dr. Asare emphasized the EC’s readiness to navigate any potential challenges and underscored the resilience and steadfastness of the Commission’s technological frameworks.

He stated, “Anyone who thinks that there’s a problem, we are convinced and certain that all our systems are secured and we are ready for the activities of the year.”

The unequivocal assurance from the EC regarding the efficacy and security of its electoral systems has sought to allay any apprehensions and reinforce public confidence as Ghana gears up for the landmark 2024 general elections.
