Justin Bieber and Wizkid on stage
Nigerian musician, Wizkid and Justin Bieber performed the remix of his song titled ‘’Essence’ for the first time at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia USA on Sunday.
It is his first international debut with the Canadian superstar on stage after he has been making huge international breakthroughs with the release of “Essence.”
The song has been having an amazing run on America’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In July, Wizkid became the first Nigerian artist to have a record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart when ‘Essence’ broke into the chart at No. 82 according to a report by Pulse Nigeria.
It rose to No.70 the next week and then to No.67.
In August, he cracked the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and also became the most Shazamed song in the United States for the week in review.
Then Wizkid announced the release of the song’s remix featuring Canadian superstar Justin Bieber, who personally stamped the song as “song of the summer”. The song originally featured Tems.
Prior to the release of the remix, Wizkid on August 12, 2021, told fans to expect “something special”.
“Got something special for you guys tomorrow…,” he wrote on Twitter.
Hours later, Bieber shared a graphic featuring all three artists’ names on top of the song’s title. “Thank u for letting me jump on the song of the summer,” he wrote in the caption.
Now both musicians are performing together on American music platforms.
