Wizkid Rocks Accra With Maiden Concert

Award-winning Nigerian afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, will headline his first concert in Ghana on December 10, 2022.

Organisedby Live Hub Entertainment, Starboy, and Finali Group Entertainment, the concert would bring together music lovers, particularly Wizkid fans all over the country, to celebrate his works.

Although much has not been revealed as to which artistes will be performing alongside Wizkid, the concert,BEATWAVES gathered,will showcase performances from some best-selling artistes who will rock the stage alongside Wizkid.

With his back to back hit bangers taking over nightclubs, radio and television all over the continent and beyond, Wizkid is probably one of the most sought after acts on the continent, and fans cannot wait to chant along with him at the concert.

Wizkid, who is a musical genius whose style is not limited to any genre, promised delivering what he refers to as one of the biggest performances of his career come Saturday, December 10.

Patrons should expect an exclusive treat as the event will see the multiple award-winning act give a first-ever live performance of songs from his old andnew albums.

He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five (5), a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W‘s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).

He later rose to the limelight after releasing ‘Holla at Your Boy’, the lead single from his debut studio album, ‘Superstar’ in 2011.

In 2016, Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the hit single ‘One Dance’, which reached number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100, and topped the charts in 14 additional countries.

In March 2017, he signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records, and released his third studio album ‘Sounds from the Other Side’, later that year.

In October 2020, he released his fourth album, ‘Made in Lagos’, which became number one on the Billboard world album chart.

Wizkid’s fifth album ‘More Love, Less Ego’ was released on November 11, 2022.
