Nigerian musicians Wizkid and Tems are proud winners at the 2022 edition of the prestigious BET Awards in the USA.
Wizkid won the BET Best Collaboration award with his song ‘Essence’ which featured Justin Bieber & Tems.
Tems also won the Best International Act award, beating Dave (UK), Dinos (France), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Fireboy DML (Nigeria), Little Simz (UK), Ludmilla (Brazil), Major League DJZ (South Africa) and Tayc (France) to win the category.
The BET Awards is a scheme that celebrates Black excellence in music, culture and sports. It was held on Sunday, June 26, 2022, with Sean “Diddy” Combs receiving the lifetime achievement award.
The award was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA, the show was hosted by award-winning actress, writer, and producer Taraji P. Henson. It was attended by the crème de la crème of showbiz industry. Will Smith won the BET Award for best actor.
